I chose to be a therapist because I have been where you are. I know what it is like to struggle with the effects of anxiety and depression, and I have been on my own healing journey for many years. I understand how important it is to be seen, heard, and validated when you are allowing yourself to be vulnerable to another.
Our behaviors are driven by our needs and desires; unhealthy behaviors are driven by unmet needs that are trying to get our attention. I specialize in using narrative therapy, imagery, and mindfulness to help clients who feel stuck in unhealthy behavior patterns. I help my clients to identify, process, and re-write the stories that they tell themselves about who they are and about what they are capable of achieving.
I work from a trauma-informed perspective that focuses on your strengths. I create a safe, nurturing environment for clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, low self-worth, relationship issues, and trauma from childhood neglect and/or abuse. I am both a LGBTQIA+ and a BIPOC ally and I endeavor to create a space where all people feel safe to be their most authentic self.
